Archive 81

An eerie but enticing fictional narrative around the unknown and the journey of finding the truth

A found footage horror podcast by the production company Dead Signals around cities, stories, and sound. It is about Dan Powell, a lone archivist doing work on behalf of New York State, who discovers recordings of an investigation with a high-rise called the Visser building in the mid-1990s for supernatural happenings. The recordings from Powell are also the last words from him to date, as he has been missing for over a year. After launching earlier this Spring, Archive 81 immediately became a favorite with press and fans alike. The program reaches adults 18-34 and delivers 100,000 impressions per episode. Advertising messages are delivered by co-producer Marc Sallinger.

What Audience Members are Saying...

“I love it when horror delivers on atmosphere, and there is a tangible sense of dread hanging over the degraded audio of Archive 81. Wherever this story goes, it promises to end up somewhere very dangerous. I can’t wait to see where that is.”
“It’s the kind of introverted and intimate terror marked that one can feel when in a house around the time the sun is going down, when recognizable forms take on a new menace in looming shadows.”
“I’ve tried almost every form of podcast horror, I’ve sought out countless shows, and listened intently for hours. It’s what I do. Trust me when I say, that this is good! It’s original, it’s creepy, and has so much potential.”
