Flash Forward

The future is going to be weird, so let's get ready for it together

FLASH FORWARD is a show about possible (and not so possible) future scenarios. What would the warranty on a sex robot look like? How would diplomacy work if we couldn’t lie? Could there ever be a fecal transplant black market? (Complicated, it wouldn’t, and yes, respectively, in case you’re curious). Each episode combines audio drama and journalism to go deep on potential tomorrows, and uncovers what those futures might really be like. The show is hosted by Rose Eveleth.

What Audience Members are Saying...

“It’s like a small bite of a sci-fi cookie dipped in some factual frosting.”
“Your podcast is part of the reason I abandoned my old career to go back to uni and study interaction design, to further explore how technology will be treated, and treat us, in the future. Thank you!”
“I’m not a ‘podcast person.’ I never got the hype, until I found this. As someone who LOVES to think about future scenarios and the triumphs/pitfalls that may occur, having some science to back that up is fabulous!”

These days, she explores how humans tangle with science and technology. She has a degree in ecology, behavior and evolution from UC San Diego where she did some research on krill, which really was just a front for hanging around in the Pelagic Invertebrates Collection at Scripps Institute of Oceanography.
