The creators of This American Life bring you Serial, hosted by Sarah Koenig. One non-fiction story is told per season in a chapter format, unraveling a tale in a narrative format each episode. Season One investigated a murder case from 20 years ago, resulting in a court's reconsideration of the case. Serial received a Peabody Award for its “innovations of form and its compelling, drilling account of how guilt, truth, and reality are decided.” Season Two investigated a U.S. soldier, Bowe Bergdahl, being captured by the Taliban in Afghanistan during 2009. The show broke the record for the fastest podcast ever to reach five million downloads in the Apple iTunes store and has received more than 10 million unique streams and downloads per episode.
